Official launches  A.P. Profession Tax Portal for registration and return filing

Joint Commissioner (ST), Visakhapatnam 1 & 2 Divisions, Y. Kiran Kumar, launched A.P. Commercial Taxes – Profession Tax Portal, enabling the services of registration & return filing under A.P. Profession Tax Act, 1987, here, on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the JC (ST) said that from April 1, 2025, onwards, all the taxpayers who come under the purview of AP Profession Tax Act, 1987, shall have to mandatorily register themselves under PT Act by logging into P.T. Portal i.e., https:/www.apct.gov.in website and shall file their returns monthly with due tax payments. He further stated that all the profession tax dues pertaining to previous tax periods shall be paid to the Commercial Tax Department only.

Mr. Kiran Kumar informed that the C.T. Department has also prepared a User Manual in this regard providing procedure for Registration and Return Filing under APPT Act. He further shared another amendment made in respect of uploading of e- invoice under GST Act.

He informed that from April 1, 2025 onwards, all the businesses whose Annual Aggregate Turn Over (AATO) was ₹10 crore and above should upload all their e-invoices in Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) within 30 days of issuance of invoice, otherwise it will be rejected by the system.

He stated that previously this rule was made applicable to the businesses having AATO of ₹100 crore and above, but now the turnover limit was reduced to ₹10 crore and above.

The Joint Commissioner (ST) requested all business entities to scrupulously make payment of Profession Tax and also adhere to the amendments made under different Acts from time to time.
