RMC surpasses its tax target for FY24-25
Rajkot: The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) collected Rs 412 crore as property tax and water charges in the financial year that ended on Monday, against its target of Rs 410 crore. Online tax collected until midnight on Monday was included in this figure.
"In financial year 2024-25, RMC collected Rs 412 crore in property tax against the target of Rs 410 crore, which is a record high," the civic body said in a statement.
According to the RMC, its tax collection for the financial year 2024-25 rose by Rs 46.88 crore from the previous year, a 12.84% increase. The number of properties on which the tax was paid also increased significantly. RMC received property tax for 4.18 lakh properties in the city, while this number was 3.95 lakh properties last year. In a campaign to collect arrears, tax officials issued notices to 8,204 properties, of which 1,471 properties were sealed.
RMC collected Rs 32.06 crore in professional tax, which is Rs 3.20 crore higher than the last financial year.
