File counter in Formula E race case: Telangana high court to ACB
Hyderabad: Justice K Lakshman of the Telangana high court on Tuesday directed ACB, probing the Formula E Race case, to file its counter to a petition filed by former municipal minister KT Rama Rao, who was named as accused number one in the FIR seeking assistance of his counsel during his interrogation by police.
Earlier, ACB had questioned him and recorded his statement in the case in the presence of his advocate, who was allowed to sit in the vicinity of the probe room. Amid contentions by the ACB counsel that nothing remained to be adjudicated in the petition, KTR's counsel A Prabhakar Rao said that the ACB was questioning some more people from the Formula E company and expressed apprehension that police might call KTR again for questioning and the former minister should be allowed to have his counsel's assistance again. Asked about the status of the probe, ACB counsel Bal Mohan Reddy said that they had examined 15 witnesses so far and were awaiting some documents from certain foreign entities.
