Over the years, several actresses have found a place in South cinema. Some actresses have opted to avoid it, but others have been able to maintain their talent or make a return to the screen after being years away from the showbiz.
1. Asin
Former Indian actress Asin Thottumkal mostly acted in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. She made her Malayalam film debut in 2001 and comes from a Malayali family in Kochi, Kerala. Despite having a small filmography, she became incredibly popular and is still cherished by many fans, who are constantly hoping for her comeback.
2. Girija Shettar
British actress Girija Shettar was well-known for her parts in South Indian films. She made her Telugu film debut in 1989 with the Mani Ratnam-directed film Geethanjali. Still regarded as a cult classic, the love drama starring Nagarjuna Akkineni was an enormous blockbuster.
