Itanagar: Arunachal Pradesh Raj Bhavan hosted a vibrant celebration of Odisha's statehood day, ‘Utkala Dibasa,' on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering, Arunachal Pradesh governor KT Parnaik extended heartfelt wishes on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh. He highlighted that celebrating the statehood days of various states strengthens unity and fosters deeper engagement with diverse communities contributing to the state.
"Such events provide an opportunity to appreciate their achievements, challenges, and contributions toward the state's progress," Parnaik said.
The governor underscored the invaluable role of the Odia community in Arunachal Pradesh, particularly in the spheres of education and social welfare. Praising their efforts, he expressed optimism that the enduring camaraderie between the two states would continue to thrive, paving the path for Arunachal Pradesh's development under the vision of ‘Viksit Arunachal'.
The occasion featured captivating cultural performances celebrating Odisha's heritage. Highlights included renditions of ‘Vande Utkal Janani' by Kantakabi Laxmikanta Mohapatra and the traditional song ‘Ama Odisha.' Pratyusha, Vedanti Patra, and Ritumbra Dash showcased traditional Odia dances like ‘Asila Utkal Divas', ‘Sriksetra Dham', and ‘Ahe Nila Shaila', while Chinmayee Nayak and her troupe presented ‘Chira Charita Odisha'.
Encouraging cultural exchange, Manami Moyir Gamlin, an Arunachali student from Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Nirjuli, performed an Odissi dance piece, ‘Mangalam', as a prelude to a divine invocation, blending rhythmic traditional ‘Bols'.
Students and instructors from the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired in Chimpu were also special guests, adding inclusivity and enhancing the event's spirit of oneness.
