Pemmmasani promises resolution of BSNL issues at ground level

Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Pemmmasani Chandra Sekhar, in a meeting with Telecom Infrastructure Providers (TIP) operators at his office on Monday, assured that recurring issues related to BSNL services will be addressed by examining them at the ground level.

The TIP operators raised concerns about persistent disruptions in BSNL’s broadband services, speed issues, transmission interruptions, and billing problems. They highlighted BSNL’s failure to resolve multiple line issues along the Chennai-Vijayawada route and to upgrade back-end infrastructure to meet current bandwidth demands.

Furthermore, the operators from Guntur district complained that despite investing substantial amounts in infrastructure, they were being sidelined in favour of newly appointed operators by local officials.

Responding promptly, Dr. Chandra Sekhar contacted BSNL Chief General Manager Seshachalam over the phone and sought an explanation regarding the issues raised by TIP operators. He warned officials against causing inconvenience to existing operators and instructed them to ensure that all legitimate facilities were provided transparently. He also stressed the need for immediate resolution of billing concerns and enhancement of field-level monitoring systems to detect and rectify service faults efficiently.

Addressing the TIP operators, the Minister reaffirmed that under the coalition government, no injustice would be tolerated. He assured that all services would be provided in a fair and regulation-compliant manner.

The meeting was attended by TIP State president Somasekhar, general secretary C.H. Praveen, Treasurer Y.V. Rao, and other representatives. The Hindu
