MLA for Shivamogga S.N. Channabasappa of the BJP has alleged that the Congress left the people of Karnataka in distress by raising the price of essential commodities, including milk.
In a press conference in Shivamogga on Tuesday, Mr. Channabasappa said that since the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government came to power in Karnataka, the price of all services and commodities has increased. The price of milk had been increased twice. The property registration charges, life tax on electric vehicles, power charges, metro ticket price, and bus fare have been increased.

Price rise in Karnataka
The Congress came to power, assuring five guarantee schemes and also said they would not increase the price of essential items. However, they failed to keep their promises.
“The government has increased the price of all services and goods to collect revenue to meet the expenses of guarantee schemes. The common people had been facing tough days because of the Congress party,” he stated.
He said the BJP would stage a day-and-night protest in Bengaluru against the price rise on Wednesday. Around 400 senior leaders and prominent workers of the party would take part in the protest in the State capital. From April 7, protests would be held at the divisional level. “We will hold the protest across Karnataka,” he said.
BJP MLC D.S. Arun, district BJP president Jagadish, and others were present at the press conference.
