Panaji: After the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education declared its Class XII results on Saturday, the directorate of higher education (DHE) has announced that it will begin centralised admissions to the first year of graduate programmes for colleges across Goa on April 11.Around 10,000 seats will be filled across the different programmes at various colleges. The DHE announced that admissions will be conducted on the Samarth e-Gov platform. Applications will be received from April 11 from 11am onwards. The deadline for the first round of admissions to submit applications will end on April 30 at midnight, said Mahadev Gawas, project director, Goa state Samarth e-Gov project unit.
“Students who have passed, are appearing for, or are awaiting their Class XII results can apply. Admissions are available for UG programmes such as BA, BCom, BSc, music, theatre, home science, BVoc, BCA, BBA, BA BEd, BSc BEd, BPEd, BA LLB, BSc Agriculture etc,” Gawas said. “Centralised admissions will be carried out for all aided and self-financed UG programmes under the administrative control of DHE Goa, while Goa University will conduct the entrance exam GU-CLAT for BA LLB.”
Colleges offering BBA and BCA programmes will conduct an offline entrance exam for applicants. But each candidate must register only once on the Samarth e-Gov portal, Gawas said.
“Candidates can apply to a maximum of five colleges/programmes of their choice. They may also apply to multiple programmes within the same college. The online application process is free of cost,” Gawas said. “Students will require their SSC marksheet, HSSC marksheet, Aadhaar card or passport copy, all in the PDF format, besides a passport-size colour photo in the JPEG format, and signature in the JPEG format while applying online.”
Additionally, candidates applying under the reservation categories (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PH) must provide a valid certificate.
