Central Command chiefs of IAF, Army conduct flight mission in Su-30 MKI
Lucknow: AOC-in-C, Central Air Command, Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit, and GOC-in-C, Central Command, Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta conducted a formation flight mission in Su-30 MKI aircraft on Saturday.
The operation commenced from Air Force Station Bakshi-ka-Talab of Lucknow to enhance coordination and efficiency between the two service branches.
A sophisticated operation was executed across the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand and Himachal sector, with the AOC-in-C leading the formation while the GOC-in-C was positioned in the rear cockpit of one of the Sukhoi aircraft.
The GOC-in-C acquired comprehensive insights into the Su 30 MKI's capabilities. The demonstration exhibited the aircraft's operational range and effectiveness in the challenging terrain of the Central Sector, along with its swift and precise responses against simulated contemporary threats.
"Such collaborative exercises exemplify the unity of the Indian Armed Forces and contribute to the integrated approach in utilising resources across services for shared objectives, while improving understanding of each service's strengths and limitations. Following the flight, the GOC-in-C expressed appreciation for the operational excellence and professional standards maintained by IAF personnel," the defence spokesperson said.
