Manasa Lit Prize for women writers

Manasa Publications, founded to nurture and amplify women-centric literary works, bridging cultures through translation has announced ‘Manasa Lit Prize’, a novel competition for new women writers.

There are two categories. One is for young adults (ages 16 to 25) and adults (ages 26 and above). Each category carries a cash prize of ₹1,00,000 each. The works of the winners will also be published,” said Chaidhanya and Kirupalakshmi, founders of Manasa Publications. Upto five books from each category would be selected for publishing, but the decision is solely reserved by Manasa Publications.

The competition is open to women writers residing in India and they should be original, unpublished works of fiction. Writers who have more than one book published are not allowed to participate. The entries should be in English and the manuscripts should be between 40,000 to 80,000 words. Each participant may submit only one manuscript. Co-authored works will not be accepted.

Last date for submission: August 31, 2025.
