EFLU’s training programme for English teachers
Lucknow: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Regional Campus, Lucknow, in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, GoUP, held a valedictory session of the fourth five-day training programme for trained graduate and postgraduate teachers of English from govt schools.
Aligned with NEP, the training focused on classroom practices, covering essential areas such as phonetics, vocabulary, speaking skills, task-based learning and language testing.
Chief guest, Lucknow and regional head, Vidya Bharti Uchcha Shiksha Sansthan, Awadh region, Jai Shankar Pandey highlighted the importance of the Panchakosha system prescribed in the Indian knowledge system. He urged participants to incorporate it into their teaching and learning process at the school level so that a holistic education system can evolve, keeping in view the Indian value system.
Addressing the participants, EFLU director Prof Rajneesh Arora highlighted the importance of imparting education in such a way that the core values of the Indian knowledge system remain intact. He also stressed the importance of multilingualism, the need for proficiency and the role of effective language teaching in student learning outcomes.
