Mysuru: The University of Mysore (UoM) has joined hands with Mythic Society, Bengaluru, to undertake a study on the century-old Maharaja's College between 1833 and 1956.
As part of the study, researchers will explore the history and legacy of the iconic college. This research ‘Maharaja's College-Historical Developments (1833-1956)' will be conducted by Rohith Eshwara, Pavamana, and Gavin Jude Wilson, professors from the college. Historian Narendra Prasad will also be part of this team. The research will be compiled using documents available in gazetteers and libraries across the country.
According to Rohith, the research will cover the duration between 1833 (when Mummadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar started Raja's Free School) and 1956 (when Karnataka was unified).
UoM VC NK Lokanath, registrar MK Savita, registrar (evaluation) N Nagaraju, finance officer Rekha, Mythic Society hononary secretary S Ravi, and others were present.
"It is one-of-a-kind research work on the history and legacy of an iconic college," registrar Savita said, adding: "UoM is not spending any funds on this research. Mythic Society has come forward for this research."
