Following complaints by residents of Hindalga village about mobile network issues because of network jammers installed by Hindalga jail authorities, Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar visited the jail on Saturday.

The residents had complained to the Minister about the problems because of the network jammers. They were unable to perform routine works using the mobile phones.

The Minister held discussions with the jail authorities and brought to their notice the problems, while the jail authorities explained their position with regard to the network jammer system installed in central prison for security reasons.

Subsequently, Ms. Hebbalkar asked the jail authorities to reduce the range of the mobile network jammers so that the residents would be able to use their mobile phones without any hindrance.
