Bengaluru: A shocking case of domestic violence has emerged in Bengaluru, where a woman was found murdered and stuffed in a suitcase. The victim, 32-year-old Gouri Khedekar, was allegedly stabbed to death by her husband, Rakesh Rajendra Gangaram Khedekar, a software professional from Maharashtra.

The crime took place at their residence in Doddakammanahalli, within the Hulimavu police station limits. After the murder, Rakesh reportedly packed Gouri’s body in a trolley bag and fled to Pune. The police discovered the suitcase near Ambedkar Apartment and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

Gruesome Details of the Murder

Police reports indicate that Gouri was stabbed multiple times in the neck and abdomen before her body was folded into the suitcase. Her parents, worried after being unable to contact her, alerted the Maharashtra Police, who then informed their Karnataka counterparts.

DCP Sarah Fathima of South-East Bengaluru confirmed the incident and personally supervised the investigation. “The suspect has been arrested in Pune and is being brought to Bengaluru. The exact motive will be determined after questioning,” she said.

The couple had moved to Bengaluru a year ago. While Gouri had a bachelor’s degree in mass media, Rakesh worked remotely for a private company. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the crime scene, and investigations are ongoing.

Police are also verifying reports that Rakesh had informed Gouri’s parents about the murder before his arrest.
