SSLC examination begins with language paper; 36,898 students appear in Madurai

A total of 36,898 students from 486 government, aided and private schools appeared for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) board examinations held here on Friday. There were 407 absentees. 

In Madurai district 37,743 — 16,298 in Madurai educational district and 21,490 in Melur educational district — had applied for the examination.  

Of them, 36,898 students, including private students, took the examination in 150 exam centres. 

To monitor students at the exam centres, 110 flying squads were on board. To assist differently-abled and injured people, 300 scribes were arranged for the examination.
