Gurgaon: Newly appointed mayor Raj Rani Malhotra plans to establish specific hours for public interactions and will be accessible to citizens during these designated time slots. Following her oath-taking ceremony on Tuesday, Malhotra will commence her official duties this week at the mayor's office located within the MCG Sector 34 premises.
In the recently concluded elections, the 66-year-old trounced her Congress rival Seema Pahuja by a margin of 1.8 lakh votes to become the city mayor.
"I am going to be available to the public at two places — one is the MCG office in Sector 34 and another one is the New Colony office from where we ran the entire campaign for the elections. That office will function as the camp office. Public dealings will be done at these two offices," Malhotra said.
Earlier, the mayor had said that her first task will be to make the city a "waste-free" city.
