Five murder accused ‘paraded’ on Chatra roads

Chatra: Five arrested for the alleged murder of a youth were apparently paraded through the city streets by the police on Tuesday night.
Even as police claimed it was due to vehicle malfunction, the incident drew public support with many stating it would act as a deterrent to criminal activities.
The handcuffed accused had to walk around 1km from Keshri Chowk to Gudri Bazaar via Post Office Road amid scores of onlookers.
While an officer claimed it was meant to serve as a warning to possible criminals, SDPO Sandeep Suman said, "The walk was necessitated by vehicle breakdown."
Last Friday, 10 people allegedly murdered Ankit due to personal enmity. Five, including the mastermind, Sushant Kumar, were apprehended on Tuesday. Efforts are on to arrest the remaining five.
