The story of Dr. Aakansha Anand, a resident of Patna, Bihar, becoming an IAS is quite interesting. Aakansha Anand’s father Praveen Kumar works as a clerk in the health department and mother Pushpa Kumari is a employed teacher in Bakhtiyarpur. After initial studies, Aakansha decided to go into the medical field, so she graduated in Medical Science from Patna Veterinary College. She was the gold medalist of the 2015-20 batch.

Aakansha Anand wanted to become an IAS officer since her college days. So she started preparing for UPSC after graduation. Meanwhile, she got appointed as a veterinary officer in Sitamarhi, but she kept working hard to fulfill her dream of becoming an IAS officer.

When Dr. Aakansha Anand gave the UPSC exam for the first time after graduation, she did not succeed. In the first attempt, she could not even clear the UPSC pre-exam. After this, she resorted to self-study and YouTube videos and started preparing for UPSC. She also ordered study material from some educational institutions.

Aakansha Anand , who became the topper in the second attempt, did not give up even after failing and appeared for the UPSC exam for the second time. This time she secured 205th rank in the year 2022 examination. In this way Aakansha Anand became an IAS from a Veterinary Officer. After one year of training, she was appointed IAS of Bihar cadre. Now she is posted in Bihar.

About her success in UPSC , Dr Aakansha Anand said how she studied for 8 to 10 hours daily while staying at home. Aakansha told in an interview that after giving the UPSC pre and mains exam, she got a job as a veterinary officer. After qualifying the mains, she gave mock interviews at many places to prepare for the interview, which helped her a lot. In this way, she finally got selected for IAS.
