Patna: Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh directed the officials to make proper arrangements to ensure peaceful celebrations of Eid-ul-fitr, Chaiti Chhath and Ram Navami.
Eid would be celebrated on March 31 or April 1, depending on the sighting of the moon, while Ram Navami would be held on April 6.
"Magistrates, police force and patrolling teams would be deputed at all crucial points. Besides, crowds would be monitored through CCTV cameras and videography of the festivals would be done. An eye would be kept on social media to ensure no disharmony is created through them," said the DM, while speaking at a review meeting that was organised here on Tuesday. He said strict action would be taken against the perpetrators found indulging in any sort of anti-social activities to disturb peace and order on the occasion.
"Quick response and quick medical response teams should be readied to deal with any emergency. The NDRF and SDRF teams should also be deputed at all river banks during the Chaiti Chhath, as people congregate in large numbers at these places," said Singh.
The DM also instructed the officials to issue advisory in the public domain regarding safety measures. "There would be a complete ban on DJs during the entire festival period and action would also be taken against those playing loudspeaker beyond the permitted time slots," said the DM.
Ram Navami Shobha Yatra Abhinandan Samiti representatives said a total of 47 processions would be taken out in the city on the occasion. They said some processions would congregate and be welcomed by the samiti members at the Dak Bungalow crossing and even ‘bhajans' would also be organised at the place.
