Jaipur: Renovation and restructuring of five railway stations of North Western Railway (NWR) is likely to be completed by end of March.
Captain Shashi Kiran, chief public relations officer, NWR, said, "Remodelling of five stations, Gogamedi, Mandi Dabwali, Deshnok, Rajgarh and Fatehpur Shekhawati, is likely to be completed by the end of March. Passengers will have more facilities, better railway over-bridges, display boards, coach position displays, and many other amenities."
Currently 85 stations are under remodelling and restructuring in Rajasthan. Jaisalmer and Gandhi Nagar stations with new infrastructure will be unveiled by July.
These stations are part of the Amrit stations scheme by the Indian Railways, through which remodelling and restructuring is being done.
Kiran said the stations under renovation and remodelling will have improved station buildings, service buildings, circulating areas, proper parking facilities, lighting arrangements, and passenger amenities like lifts, escalators, 12-metre-wide FOBs, coach guidance boards, train display boards, public address systems, platform shelters and high-level platforms.
