Two booked for making advances, obscene gestures at women in Yerawada pub
Pune: The Yerawada police have registered a case of sexual harassment against two men for troubling three women on the dance floor of a pub in Yerawada around 12.45am on Sunday.
The duo abused and mistreated a woman bouncer (30) at the pub. She later lodged a complaint with the police.
Senior inspector Ravindra Shelke of Yerawada police said, "We took the two men, one 34 years old and the other 31 years old, to the police station and served them notices asking them to cooperate with the investigation. The two men are from Koregaon Bhima in Shirur taluka and run different businesses in the industrial area there."
According to the complaint, the women and the two men were on the dance floor. While dancing, the two men made unwelcome advances towards three women and also made obscene gestures. "Following this, the women reported the matter to the woman bouncer," Shelke said.
"The woman bouncer requested the duo not to offend the women on the dance floor, but instead of acknowledging her request, they also made obscene gestures and hurled abuses towards her," he said.
The pub management then called the police, who took the duo to the police station.
