Video shows syringes in RU sports ground washroom

Jaipur: A video showing syringes in the washroom at Rajasthan University's sports ground went viral on social media Sunday, raising questions about student safety on the campus.
In the video, a person can be heard saying there is only a common washroom for both girls and boys at the sports ground, while the administration boasts of women empowerment on the campus. After this, used syringes can be seen in almost every section inside the washroom, which is in a dirty condition.
"Big stages are set up for programmes in the university, where there are discussions about women empowerment, but this is the condition in the university… this is the development taking place… people would be scared to use the washroom fearing that a needle may prick them and they catch some disease," says the person recording the video.
After the video went viral on social media, questions were raised on social media about security measures at the university. TOI tried contacting RU's secretary of sports board Pramod Singh for comments, but did not get a response.
