28% candidates turn up for RO & EO exam
Ajmer: Only 27.5% of the 4.4 lakh registered candidates appeared Sunday for the re-examination of the Revenue Officer Grade 2 and Superintendent Officer Category 3 Examination 2022, according to the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). The exam took place at 1,918 centres across 26 districts to fill 111 posts, including 90 posts for revenue officers and 21 posts for superintendent officers. RPSC officials said they took strict measures before candidates entered the examination because the paper was leaked previously. While 85,817 candidates were scheduled to appear in Jaipur, only 23,473 turned up to write the exam. Ajmer called 23,175 candidates, while 6,391 appeared. Banswara witnessed the highest turnout, with 30.4% candidates taking the exam, and Didwana-Kuchaman district reported the lowest, with 22.5% attendance. Statewide, 1.2 lakh candidates sat for the exam.
RPSC initially conducted the exam on May 14, 2023, and declared the result on Nov 21, 2023. However, the Commission cancelled exam on Oct 25, 2024, after it found evidence indicating a paper leak. tnn
