The School Education Department on Friday issued guidelines, directing all officials to strictly comply with court orders and judgments.

All court orders must be followed within the stipulated time. If unable to do so, steps must be taken to obtain a legal opinion and file an appeal before the High Court or the Supreme Court, it said, adding: “The Chief Educational Officer’s office must check the daily cause list of the High Court and other relevant courts to track cases. A monthly review meeting must be held with the District Education Officer and Block Education Officer to assess the status of pending court cases, and ensure timely action...”

‘Maintain record’

The department also directed district-level officials to maintain an updated record of all ongoing litigation to avoid last-minute legal complications. The details must be updated in the Litigation Management System.

“Non-compliance [with the orders] or failure to appeal will attract disciplinary action,” the department added.
