Happy to play any role: Badoni
Lucknow: Playing in his debut season for Lucknow Super Giants, Ayush Badoni impressed many with his six-hitting prowess. Now, with 634 runs under his belt in 42 matches, the Delhi Ranji Trophy skipper has come a long way.
Confident in his hard-hitting batting and handy off-breaks, LSG retained him for Rs 4 crore. The youngster, who was primarily used as an impact player, is now striving to guide his team to a title triumph this season.
"I am grateful to Lucknow Super Giants for giving me this opportunity. As long as the team is winning, I am happy to play any role I am assigned," he said while speaking to TOI.
Badoni also shares a strong bond with skipper Rishabh Pant. "I feel immense joy when I play with him. I've known him since childhood. We used to play for the same club, so there's a unique vibe and boundless energy when we play together," he said.
He rated LSG's batting lineup as one of the strongest in the IPL but acknowledged that fitness concerns surrounding their pace attack remain a major worry.
When asked if the Rs 4 crore price tag puts any added pressure on him, he said, "There is no pressure. I will try to do my best. My domestic season went well, and I aim to continue in the same rhythm in the IPL to deliver a strong performance."
He also added that LSG's opening match is against Delhi Capitals and that they enjoy playing against the DC bowlers.
