Kendrapada: A 26-year-old tribal woman on Friday filed a police complaint against an OAS officer in Jagatsinghpur district alleging he abandoned her after marriage and forced her to undergo two abortions.
The complainant, a resident of Jajpur district, accused that the man had married her two years ago, before he qualified for OAS, and maintained a physical relationship with her. She alleged that after securing the post, he severed all ties and is now planning to marry another woman.
Jagatsinghpur police have registered a case under sections 85 and 89 of BNS. "We are investigating the matter thoroughly," said Pravas Sahu, IIC of Jagatsinghpur police station.
The officer, posted in Mayurbhanj district, denied the allegations. "This is an attempt to damage my reputation after I joined the OAS. I never married her and I am willing to cooperate with the police investigation," the officer said.
His father also dismissed the accusations, stating that the complainant is a relative who is trying to defame his son.
