The Young Indians, an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry, would focus on the importance of child safety among other initiatives under the Project Masoom, said Yi national chairman Taranga Khurana here on Friday.

Speaking to reporters, he said that the project is dedicated to safeguarding children by raising awareness among the children, parents, educators and society.

The Yi organised the leadership cricket league, bringing together Yi members from 16 chapters across Tamil Nadu, which combined leadership, teamwork and sportsmanship, reinforcing the message of child safety in an engaging and impactful manner.

He said that child safety is a collective responsibility and through the Project Masoom, they aimed to empower children and caregivers with the knowledge and tools they need to prevent and address potential risks.

The leadership cricket league was an innovative way to engage the youth.

Responding to queries, he said that not only on child safety, but the Young Indians focused on prevention of road accidents, drug abuse et al. Across the States, the members, engaged with the police officers, conducted awareness programmes in schools and colleges.

The ultimate objective is to build youth leadership, nation building and thought leadership. With over 70 chapters across the country and with 7,000 members in the age group of 21 and 45 years, they would churn in the talent, which was in abundance in the nation.
