Man ‘sexually assaults’ 11-yr-old daughter, on the run

Ludhiana: A man was Thursday booked on charges of sexually assaulting his 11-year-old daughter.
An FIR was lodged on the complaint of the girl's mother.
In her complaint to Haibowal police, she said her elder daughter confided in her saying that whenever she would go out taking her sister, 7, along, the father would harass her. She said he threatened her with dire consequences if she dared to open her mouth and also reportedly tried to strangulate her once.
Charges under sections 74 (assault or criminal force to deter a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 126 (2) (wrongful restraint), 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of BNS have been pressed against the accused.
He is on the run. Investigation is under way.
