Cops draw a list of 8,374 notorious elements in state
Vadodara: The police has compiled a list of 8,374 anti-social elements and criminals who have been booked for various offences across the state. Gujarat director general of police (DGP) Vikas Sahay stated on Thursday that all police stations in the state were given 100 hours to prepare an updated list of notorious individuals.
"We categorized these anti-social elements based on their crimes, including property offences, assaults, threats, mining mafia activities, and others. With this updated list, strict action will be taken against them soon," Sahay said on the sidelines of a crime conference held in Godhra town of Panchmahal district, on Thursday.
The list includes 3,240 bootleggers, 322 gamblers, 2,739 accused of assault and issuing threats, 1,355 booked for property related crimes, 68 involved in the mining mafia and other offenders. He further stated that action is also being taken against those involved in illegal construction and encroachment on government land.
