Fire causes damage at furniture store

Mysuru: Used furniture and cushion materials at a furniture shop were destroyed in a fire accident late on Thursday. District fire officer KP Gururaj said they received a fire call around 9.30 pm, after thick smoke started to billow out of the shop. Immediately, they rushed a team and extinguished the fire. The furniture shop was located next to the Udayagiri police station. Police rushed to the spot following the incident. The fire happened by accident, and occurred after the shop was closed, authorities stated.
