Members of Parliament from Belagavi and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw with a list of demands, including early extension of Vande Bharat Express to Belagavi.

Lok Sabha member Jagadish Shettar and Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi accompanied Mr. Joshi to the Minister’s office in New Delhi on Thursday, and submitted a list of demands. The demands included conducting a route survey to enable laying a new railway line to connect the Saundatti Yallamma temple to Dharwad and Bagalkot. The survey was planned for the Lokapur- Ramdurga-Saundatti-Dharwad line.

Mr. Vaishnaw was urged to extend the Vande Bharat Express running between Bengaluru and Dharwad to Belagavi as soon as possible and declare the date of launch. There was a need for running a daily passenger train service between Belagavi and Miraj. They also demanded extension of Mumbai-Hospet (Train No. 111139/40) and Solhapur-Hospet (Train No. 11415/16) to Ballari railway station. The Minister has responded positively, said a release.
