Bottled water export to be launched soon: Minister

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the export of bottled water from Kerala to GCC countries soon, Water Resources Minister Roshy Augustine informed the State Assembly on Thursday.

The government had earlier announced plans for the export of the Hilly Aqua bottled water brand of the Kerala Irrigation Infrastructure Development Corporation (KIIDC). A three-year agreement has been signed in this regard with Arohana General Trading LLC based in the United Arab Emirates for export to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar, Mr. Augustine said.

Hilly Aqua also is in the process of bringing out its bottled water in eco-friendly biodegradable bottles, he said.
