40 ULBs to get ₹112 crore for development works

Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Principal Secretary S. Suresh Kumar has accorded permission to the Town & Country Planning Director to transfer an amount of ₹112 crore to 40 urban local bodies (ULBs) for development works, as per the request of the MLAs.

The ULBs in the districts of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema, Anantapur, Chittoor, Nandyal, Kadapa, Eluru, Bapatla, Kakinada, East Godavari, Palnadu, Parvathipuram-Manyam, Tirupati, SPSR Nellore, Prakasam, Sri Sathya Sai, Srikakulam and West Godavari will receive the amount on reimbursement basis, an official note from the department says.

The order directs that the funds be utilised by the ULBs for water supply, roads, drains, street lighting and parks only.
