Snakebite kills woman in Sundargarh
Rourkela: A 38-year-old woman died of snakebite while collecting mahua flowers in a forest in Sundargarh's Bonai sub-division on Wednesday.
The deceased, Gauri Saunti of Daleisara village, had gone to the forest around 6 am with another villager when she was bitten by a venomous snake. Though she managed to return home, her condition worsened. She was shifted to Bonai sub-divisional hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
Mahulpada police have registered an unnatural death case and launched an investigation. Following post-mortem, the body was handed over to the deceased's brother. Saunti, who lived alone, is survived by her siblings. TNN
