Lucknow: The ‘Nazrana-e-Avadh' sports fest began on Tuesday at Avadh Girls' PG College, drawing participation from various institutions across Lucknow. The inaugural day witnessed performances in multiple sporting events.
On the first day, participants competed in kho-kho, table tennis, chess and taekwondo in both girls' and boys' categories. The throwball and basketball events were held exclusively for the girls' category.
Basketball player Ishita Verma said, "Playing in Nazrana-e-Avadh has been a great experience. The competition is intense, and it's amazing to see so many talented players on every side. We have trained hard this time and we believe we can win the trophy this year."
Taekwondo athlete Riya Srivastava said, "For the first time taekwondo is being held at this platform." LU VC Prof Alok Kumar Rai, president of Avadh Girls' Degree College, Zarine Viccajee, AGDC manager and secretary, Nishi Pandey and AGDC principal Bina Rai were also present.
