Railways cancels four trains, diverts others
Patna: The North Eastern Railway (NER) has cancelled four passenger trains and diverted the routes of 17 others due to the ongoing engineering work in the Lucknow division of the (NER).
According to the East Central Railway (ECR)'s chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, the engineering works, which aim to improve the infrastructure and enhance the safety and speed of rail operations, have led to these significant changes in train schedules.
The cancelled trains are the Gandhidham-Bhagalpur and Ahmedabad-Darbhanga specials. "While the Gandhidham-Bhagalpur will be cancelled on March 21, 24, 28, 31, April 4, 7, 11,14, 18, 21, 25 and 28, the Ahmedabad-Darbhanga will not run on March 21, 24, 28, 31, April 4, 7, 11,14, 18, 21, 25 and 28," he said, adding that the railways has urged passengers to verify the status of their respective trains through official railway website or railway inquiry services on 139 to avoid inconveniences.
Additionally, the important trains which have been diverted to the Lucknow-Muradabad-Gaziabad and Kanpur Central-Etawah-Tundala-Aligarh routes included Darbhanga-Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat, Katihar-Delhi, Barauni-New Delhi Clone, Darbhanga-New Delhi Clone, Patliputra Junction-Udaipur City Humsafar, Muzaffarpur-Sabarmati Jansadharan, Barauni-Gwalior, Kolkata-Agra Cantt, Puri-Anand Vihar, Muzaffarpur-Surat, among others.
