Gangster Act against 17 criminals; 6 arrested

Prayagraj: Nawabganj police on Tuesday claimed to have slapped Gangster Act against 17 criminals, including a notorious copying mafia and arrested six of them. The arrested persons included Manish Kumar Patel of Phulpur, Kamlesh Patel of Holagarh, Virendra Kumar Patel of Bhagwatipur and Nigam Singh Patel of Soraon.
Police stated that an FIR under sections 2 and 3 of the UP Gangster Act was filed against notorious copying mafia Sonu Yadav and other members of the gang. The police authorities are planning to seize their properties, that was being accumulated through illegal means, under the Gangster Act. The list of criminals who were charged under the Gangster Act includes the names of copying mafia Sonu Yadav and notorious cattle smuggler Muzaffar. Both are currently in different jails in UP. Police claimed that Sonu, apart from operating a copying and solver gang, was also involved in an extortion racket.
