Bidar airport to restart flight operations on April 15

The Bidar airport, which stopped commercial flight operations, more than a year ago, is all set to restart operations next month.

Star Air, which was operating on the Bidar-Bengaluru route, will restart daily flights on April 15.

From Bengaluru, the flight will depart at 7.45 a.m. and arrive in Bidar at 9 a.m. From Bidar, the flight will depart at 9.30 a.m. and arrive in Bengaluru at 10.45 a.m.

The Bidar airport, which began operating commercial flights under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) scheme in 2020, ceased operations in December 2023 due to low load factor.

The airport belongs to the Indian Air Force. In 2020, the GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. signed a concession agreement to commission, operationalise and maintain the civilian enclave at the airport.
