3 Iowa’s Best Burger Contest finalists located in Central, South-Central Iowa
IOWA — The Iowa Beef Industry Council and the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association announced the top ten finalists for the 2025 Iowa’s Best Burger Contest.
Finalists were chosen based on the number of nominations received and had to meet certain requirements to be eligible. Some of the requirements were that the burger had to be 100% beef and had to be served on a bun or other bread product like a biscuit or tortillas.

“Nearly 400 restaurants were nominated during this year’s voting process,” Kylie Peterson, director of marketing for the Iowa Beef Industry Council, said in a press release. “This year’s Top Ten restaurants are award-winning worthy, but they’re only a handful of the many outstanding establishments in Iowa that proudly serve high-quality beef raised by our state’s cattle farmers.”
Nominations for the best burger closed on March 10 and on Monday the top ten finalists were announced. Three of the ten finalists are in Central and South-Central Iowa. A list of the finalists is below:
The Road House in Orange City

Dan’s Road House in Cresco
Big Head Burger in Waterloo
Arcadia in Polk City
Salsa Guy Cafe in Cedar Rapids

An anonymous judging panel will visit each of the finalists to evaluate their burgers. The winner will be announced on May 1.
