Rs1 crore looted from private office in Patna
Patna: A gang of armed robbers looted Rs 1 crore from a private office in Patna on Tuesday. The incident occurred around 2pm in the Kankarbagh police station area when six to seven criminals, armed with pistols, stormed the office and looted cash from victims who had come to make a down payment for a land purchase.
"The crime was committed by six to seven armed men at a private office at Ashok Nagar. They brandished pistols to intimidate the victims and snatched two bags, each containing Rs 50 lakh. The robbers then fled in a four-wheeler. We are analysing CCTV footage from nearby areas as the office itself did not have any cameras," Patna SSP (east) K Ramdas said.
The SSP added, "An investigation has been initiated based on a written complaint by the victims, Abhishek Kumar and Raju Kumar, residents of Rupaspur. They had come to meet a property broker at a private office in Kankarbagh to finalise a land deal. At the time of the robbery, two to three people were inside the office. We are interrogating them as part of our investigation. Different teams are working on various angles, including tracking suspicious vehicles."
Forensic experts have been called in to collect evidence from the crime scene. Police are also investigating possible property disputes linked to the case.
According to police, the robbery was meticulously planned, suggesting insider involvement, as the perpetrators knew the exact timing of the cash transaction. The entire heist lasted about 10 minutes.
