Bhojpur SP suspends two sub-inspectors for negligence in double murder case
Ara: Bhojpur superintendent of police (SP) Raj on Monday suspended two sub-inspectors (SIs) for dereliction of duty in Sunday's double murder at Semra village in Barhara area. Milkman Dharmendra Rai (25) of Semra and 24-year-old Prem Singh of adjacent Bindgaon village were shot dead, while two others — Harendra Singh and Satyendra Singh — were injured during a fight between two groups over one litre of milk.
"Sub-inspectors Brij Bihari Rai and Arun Kumar Yadav, deputed at Barhara police station of the district, have been suspended for dereliction of duty," a brief press release from the Bhojpur SP's office stated on Monday.
In the last two days, the Bhojpur SP suspended six police personnel for dereliction of duty. On Sunday evening, four cops, including the incharge of the dial 112 team, were suspended for not responding promptly to the call of a saleswoman of a prominent jewellery showroom Ara where a major robbery of over Rs 10 crore took place on March 10.
