Published - March 17, 2025 06:44 pm IST - KOZHIKODE

The Kerala State Human Rights Commission has directed the District Police Chief (Kozhikode City) and the secretary of Kozhikode Corporation to immediately remove the encroachments by street vendors on the footpath near the LIC corner at Mananchira.

K. Baijunath, a judicial member of the Commission, said in the order on Monday (March 17) that the footpath should be cleared so that people can walk there smoothly. An action-taken report should be filed in a week. The case, registered suo motu by the Commission, would be considered at a sitting to be held in Kozhikode on March 27.
