Music composer AR Rahman has been admitted to a private hospital and is in stable condition, sources said on Sunday.

The Oscar-winning musician was hospitalised on Saturday night.

Rahman’s sister, AR Reihana, dismissed concerns about his health, attributing his hospitalisation to dehydration and gastric issues.

"Nothing happened, he had dehydration and gastric problems... He is fine and he will be back again. It is only a gastric problem," Reihana told PTI.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also confirmed Rahman’s condition, stating he had spoken to doctors who assured him the composer was doing well and would be discharged soon.

“As soon as I heard the news that Isaipuyal @arrahman had been admitted to hospital due to ill health, I contacted the doctors and inquired about his health! They said he is fine and will be back home soon! Happy!” Stalin wrote on X.

An official update on Rahman’s condition is awaited.
