Homes demolished in police presence

Ahmedabad: In the presence of police commissioner G S Malik, officers from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), with police security, carried out the demolition on Saturday of illegal homes belonging to those accused of vandalism in Vastral. "The corporation investigated the homes of 14 accused in Vastral, finding that six of them were built illegally or without any approval. Consequently, their homes in Amraiwadi and Hatkeshwar Bhaipura areas of the city were demolished," said an AMC official. In Dec 2024, a similar demolition action was taken against those accused of attacking the police in the Rakhial and Bapunagar areas.
