India’s longest sea bridge is Atal Setu which has been built at a cost of Rs 17,843 crore and is 21.8-km long. However, there is a similar bridge which is being built in Dubai. The longest bridge in UAE is Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Crossing, also known as Sixth Crossing. The length of this bridge in Dubai is 1.6 km. It is built over Dubai Creek.
According to reports, the cost of building the Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Crossing is about Rs 5500 crore. America’s FXFOWLE Architects is the architect of this bridge. The bridge will link the localities of Al Jaddaf and Bur Dubai. In the center will be a track for Dubai Metro’s Green Line. In December 2022, RTA has opened Phase I of the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Improvement Corridor Project in Dubai.
Dubai’s longest bridge is part of a road project worth about Rs 6700 crore. This entire project is a part of the Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Improvement Corridor Project, which will benefit 6.5 lakh Dubai residents.
When fully operational, 20,000 vehicles will be able to pass over this bridge every hour. According to reports, the first phase of construction has already started.
Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Crossing is a 6-lane bridge named after former UAE President Rashid bin Saeed. The bridge will be 64 metres (210 ft) wide and will rise 15 metres (49 ft) above the water.
