Shrivalli and Vaidehi win doubles title in ITF tournament in Thailand

Third seeds Shrivalli Bhamidipaty and Vaidehi Chaudhari beat second seeds Punnin Kovapitukted and Yuki Naito 6-4, 6-3 in the doubles final of the $30,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Nonthaburi, Thailand, on Saturday.

It was the first title of the season and fourth title as a pair for Shrivalli and Vaidehi in the professional circuit.

The results:

$250,000 Challenger, Cap Cana, Dominican Republic - Doubles (quarterfinals): Gonzalo Escobar & Diego Hidalgo (Ecu) bt Sriram Balaji & Miguel Reyes-Varela (Mex) 6-4, 7-5.

$30,000 ITF women, Nonthaburi, Thailand

Doubles (final): Shrivalli Bhamidipaty & Vaidehi Chaudhari bt Punnin Kovapitukted (Tha) & Yuki Naito (Jpn) 6-4, 6-3.
