I am able to connect now After changing date and time
Since yesterday I was not able to change volume of my chromecast audio via Google home app as the icon for chromecast was persistently grayed out...
Though the chromecast was working well...
Today I tried again and ultimately reset the chromecast (that was idiotic) and now I am nowhere lol as home app keeps saying we couldn't authenticate your chromecast

Seems it's a worldwide issue as is obvious from the reddit thread..
Somehow I have a feeling that this might not get fixed as Google stops support after 10 years in general..
Edit may be tgis will get resolved as it's out in the media big time

So after going through numerous replies
I was able to get the chromecast going by setting date of my phone to 8th and time as 12:30am.. The setup went through..
Though still not able to control the volume as the option remains greyed in home app.. That doesn't bother me.. But the real bothering fact is the the high frequency settings are by default off in Cca and after reset they can't be turned on till Google fixes the issue...

But unable to cast my screen either YouTube or Netflix or any other app. Is there is any issue in casting ?
Yep as I said earlier, I don't think this will resolve, Google won't solve it as the lifetime of devices was originally 10 years and they have disabled the aithtication certificates now..
This is what I have been dreading, too. Kuch dependency on the Internet, precisely why I try and keep things as analogue as possible
So google has in fact acknowledged and claims to be working on a fix

same thing happened to me. reset the device now it doesnt work.

You can get it to work or atleasr make it able to get the upcoming fix as and when google releases.
Just set date and time of your phone to sometime after 8th 12 am and then set it up a fresh using the Google home app..
The device will start to work but not fully

if you haven't factory reset your device, you ll receive it and all issues will be fixed..
a secondary fix will be released soobn for the onesd like mne who have alreday reset the devices..
