‘Customer’ steals iPhone worth Rs 1.5L from store
Bengaluru: A man posing as a prospective customer visited an Aptronix store on MG Road on March 10 on the pretext of buying an iPhone. He walked into the showroom around 2.20pm and walked out 10 minutes later.
The staff said he went around the store on the pretext of checking display phones. He diverted their attention and managed to pocket a phone.
The incident came to light after some time when staff found an iPhone missing. They immediately checked CCTV footage and found the suspect stealing the phone.
According to the complaint filed by a sales executive, the miscreant stole an iPhone 16 Pro Max 256 GB worth around Rs 1.5 lakh.
Cubbon Park police registered a case under BNS Section 305 (theft in a dwelling house or means of transportation or place of worship, etc.) and are trying to trace him.
