Man held for minor girl’srape in 2023

Varanasi: A 21-year-old man was arrested by Anpara police in UP's Sonbhadra district for allegedly raping a minor girl, in Nov 2023.
The accused, Tushardas Gupta, was arrested after a Zero FIR was registered in Surat, Gujarat, where the rape survivor had been living.
In-charge of Anpara police station Shiv Pratap Verma said, "Tushar had allegedly raped the girl in Nov 2023. However, the victim's family did not file a complaint at that time and moved to Surat in Gujarat where the girl started working as a domestic help."
"The girl got pregnant. One day, she fell ill and took some medicine after which she delivered a stillborn baby in the bathroom. In panic, she threw the newborn out of the bathroom window," Verma said. Police sent the girl's DNA sample for testing which matched the DNA of the deceased baby. A Zero FIR was registered and transferred to Anpara where the accused was arrested.
