Iberia outperforms Qatar, British, Lufthansa, Saudia, Avianca, LATAM, and Emirates, achieving over 91% punctuality in February, ranking as the most on-time airline.
Iberia emerged as Europe’s most punctual airline in February and secured the second spot globally, according to the latest report by international consultancy Cirium. Maintaining its strong performance from January, the Spanish airline continued its streak of operational efficiency, building on its successful track record from 2024.
With an on-time arrival rate of 91.25% across 13,759 flights, Iberia demonstrated exceptional reliability last month. The global rankings considered only airlines with the highest Available Seat Kilometres (ASK)—those within the top 10% of carriers worldwide and operating across at least three regions—highlighting Iberia’s position among the industry’s most efficient carriers.
In terms of passenger traffic in 2024, Lufthansa Group led the industry with 131 million travelers, followed by British Airways Group, which carried 122 million passengers. LATAM Airlines transported 82 million, while Emirates recorded 51.9 million in the fiscal year 2023/24. Qatar Airways handled approximately 40 million travelers, while Avianca served 38 million passengers. Iberia followed with 30.7 million passengers, reinforcing its strong presence in the European aviation market. Meanwhile, Saudia carried 20 million passengers, marking its international expansion.
